Henryville High School's own band and music teacher Natalie Humble is a quarterfinalist for the 2027 Music Educator Award presented by the Recording Academy and Grammy Museum!
The Music Educator Award was established to recognize current educators who have made a signficiant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. Semifinalists will be announced in September.

Fun Facts: Mr. Coats loves snow skiing and preaching.
Mr. Coats says, "I think that my favorite part of being a teacher is the relationships I get to build with the staff and students around me. I love getting to know the students and I love having the opportunity to make an impact on their lives. It always makes me happy when a student comes up to talk to me about their sports, hobbies, families, or whatever they want. It gives me an opportunity to grow my relationships with them and it proves to me that they know I care about them, not only as students but as actual individual people as well. "

It is that time of year for Awards at Henryville Jr./Sr. High School.
Families, we know your "To-Do" list is a mile long. But did you know that registering for the 26-27 school year takes less time than a grocery run?
Currently, 13.76% of our current students are officially set for next year. Another 40 returning families have started their applications, but they haven't hit that "Submit" button. Take 15 minutes today to knock it out, and you won’t have to think about it for the rest of the school year or this summer!

It’s time to gear up for the 2026-2027 school year! Whether you are a returning family or joining the Borden-Henryville School Corporation for the first time, our online registration portal is ready for you.
How to Register:
Make sure you have your proof of address (utility bill or driver’s license) handy before you begin!
Returning Families: Log in via your Infinite Campus Parent Portal. You can be finished in 15-20 minutes!
New Families: Head to www.bhsc.school and click on 26-27 Registration. Expect the process to take about 20–30 minutes.
All families, even those who attended during the 25-26 school year, are required to update their registration information annually.

Matthew Payne, HHS, FACS Teacher; Strength & Conditioning Coach
Experience: 2 years with BHSC, 6 years overall teaching
College/University: Bachelor's from WKU, Master's from University of St. Francis, & currently pursuing an additional Master's from USI
Fun facts: Mr. Payne says, "This is a second career for me. Football was my favorite sport I played in my career but most don’t know that I played college rugby at WKU."
Mr. Payne said his favorite part of teaching is that he loves what he does. "This isn’t a job because a job is something you go to and collect a pay check. I love what I do and feel honored to help educate and pass on my life experiences with the kids here. My passion is fitness so I’d say teaching my weight classes and after school training is my favorite part along with being the head middle school football coach."
Mr. Payne was nominated by the family of Jaxon and Ben Kirk, who wrote, "Mr. Payne goes above and beyond when it comes to the health and participation of the students in the gym. He takes his own time to help them lift weight and work out during summer hours! He also stays after school to let the kids work out and lift weights. He coaches football and is an excellent example of sportsmanship and discipline. He works the kids hard but is right there with them, working along side them, pushing them to be their best selves. He is encouraging when they need encouragement and disciplines when they need correction in a positive, supportive way. We absolutely love Mr. Payne and all the dedication and time he puts forth with these kids on a daily basis. He deserves this recognition in our opinion."

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are vital volunteers who step up for the best interests of children involved in abuse and neglect cases in our very own county. Every child deserves an advocate, and now more than ever, CASA needs volunteers like you.
🌟 How You Can Help as a CASA Volunteer:
1️⃣ TRAINING: Start with a 30-hour initial training and then complete 12 hours annually to be fully equipped. Remember, training is remote and flexible!
2️⃣ LEARN: Become an expert on the child's life, family, and specific circumstances.
3️⃣ ENGAGE: Commit to visiting with the child at least once a month.
4️⃣ RECOMMEND: Use your knowledge to advocate and make recommendations for the child’s best interests in court, monitoring their situation until their case is closed.

Who Can Join? Anyone 21+ with a clean background check. This is a great chance for you to impact a child's life in a positive way, and it's a fantastic opportunity for retired teachers, grandparents, or others who can spare a few hours a month.

HHS will be on asynchronous learning on Friday, March 6th due to increasing illnesses among students and staff. We will not be providing transportation to and from Prosser on this day. This will not count against your Prosser student's attendance as long as you stay in contact with your Prosser Instructor regarding work for the day. Students are not permitted to drive to Prosser. If you choose to attend Prosser on Friday, you will need to be dropped off and picked up.
Our Culinary Pathway class decided this rainy day was a great day for a Chili Cook-Off. Mr. Lewis, Mr. Oxley, and Mr. Fehribach accepted the offer to judge the competition!

We are thrilled to announce a generous $10,000 donation from Pilot's Miles of Good Foundation! This incredible investment is part of Pilot’s celebration of their newly remodeled travel center in Memphis.
Empowering Our Students 🍎
These funds are specifically designated to support and expand our Project Lead the Way initiative at Henryville High School. This program is vital for equipping our students with the problem-solving skills and real-world experiences they need to thrive in their future careers.

The Pilot travel center at 14013 Blue Lick Rd has undergone a complete "curb-to-counter" remodel as part of their New Horizons project, and upgrades include new self-checkouts, a remodeled Arby's, and upgraded facilities, including showers, restrooms, and laundry.
